Declining Your Offer (i365 Day 179)

If you have a job offer, would you accept it right away? Usually people would consider the following few things: first, employee benefits and fringe benefits; second, their compatibility with the boss and the company; third, their future prospect.
God offered the highest leadership role to Moses, but he kept on declining it. Moses had his reasons of doing so. If you were him, what would be your responses? Let’s ponder this story once again.
Ponder: 10Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” 13But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:10–13 NIV)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “I don’t think I am fit to be a church leader. Can You ask someone else to do the job instead?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. If God called you to become a leader, ask Him for the strength and the wisdom to take up the responsibility.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. If God called you to become a leader, share with your pastor your concerns and hesitations.
