Respect the Elders (i365 Day 168)

Time goes by very quickly. Eventually, a baby boy will turn into an old man. How would you like others to treat you when you turn old? Would you like others to look at you with contempt? Would you like your children and grandchildren to abandon you? Frankly speaking, we wish others would respect us at our old age!
In many cultures, old people are seen as the wisdom and resources of families and societies. Also, respecting old people is a way of life. Treating the elderly with respect is a Hebrew culture. Let’s ponder Leviticus 19:32.
Ponder: 32“Stand up in the presence of the elderly, and show respect for the aged. Fear your God. I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:32 NLT)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Could You teach me to respect my parents and all the elders that I know?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for an elderly widow and find time to visit her.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a Christian the happy occasion that you had with the elderly widow.
