Thanks to Protestant work ethic, Western capitalism thrives. What is the work ethic behind this terminology? Its moral and social values are associated with Anglo-Saxon Protestantism in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Workers are encouraged to work hard and are responsible for their actions and thrift. Also, it encourages love of liberty and learning.
This kind of work ethic stems from the Bible. The Apostle Paul is a good example of a diligent worker.
Ponder: 9For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. (1 Thessalonians 2:9 ESV)
Post: “Do I have a good work ethic?”
Practice: Pray that you could have the determination to work hard.
Proclaim: Share your struggles and successes in work with your family members.
