Vocation can be defined as a strong sense of suitability for a specific career or occupation. It’s understandable that not all of us have a vocation to be professors. As a matter of fact, we all have different vocation. The New Testament Bible teaches that all human beings should engage in labour (1 Cor. 4:12; Eph. 4:28; 1 Thess. 4:11; 2 Thess. 3:10–12; Acts 20:35). All humans are free to choose their career paths, but they should decide based on their capacities and interests. As for the followers of Jesus Christ, they should seek God’s will in choosing or changing their vocations.
Ponder: 11Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business. 12We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. (2 Thessalonians 3:11–12 NLT)
Post: “Dear Lord, should I change my career path?”
Practice: Discover your strengths and interests and see if you have utilized them in your career.
