Love and Obey (i365 Day 23)

What do parents expect from their children? According to a former assistant professor, first on her list is “Obedient child is the preferred one.” So, what is obedience? According to a dictionary’s definition, the meaning of obedience is to respect, honour, listen, and to pay attention. Interestingly, I came across a quote, saying, “Delayed obedience is disobedience.” No matter how old you are, I think your parents would expect you to obey them. If your parents think they are right, they would demand your immediate obedience.
Ponder: 1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:1–3 NKJV)
Post: “Lord Jesus, why is obedience so hard to learn?”
Practice: Respect, honour, listen, and pay attention in your relationship with your parents.
Proclaim: Share your story of obedience with a person that you trust.
